With the rise of rock and pop music, the electric guitar is one of the most popular instruments in the world. There are so many eager music lovers that want to start their guitar journey, but finding all the right equipment and an electric guitar can be daunting – especially for electric guitar. Unlike the acoustic guitar, playing electric guitar requires a couple more pieces of equipment. Electric guitar by itself won’t be very loud, and you need to buy a guitar amplifier, as well as an instrument cable to connect your electric guitar to the amp.
Now trying to make all of these decisions as a complete beginner will be hard, and that’s where electric guitar packages become a good option to consider. Electric guitar starter kits will include all the essentials like an electric guitar, a guitar amplifier, a gig bag or a soft case, guitar strap, strings, tuner, and picks. Without having to buy all the individual gear by yourself, it’ll be so much easier and cheaper to get the whole package in one purchase.
Here Are the Best Beginner Electric Guitar Packages
1. Epiphone Slash Les Paul Special-II Performance Pack (Best Overall)
Estimated Price | $400 |
Body Material | Mahogany body with Maple veneer top |
Fretboard | Rosewood |
Pickups | Epiphone Ceramic Plus Zebra Humbucker |
Bridge | Epiphone Ceramic Plus Zebra Humbucker |

My Review: This guitar package features very high-quality components and is that it has the Slash “AFD” Les Paul, which is the signature model of the guitar Slash used on the legendary Appetite for Destruction album. Any guitar player will know the famous “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, and if you’re a big fan of Slash, this is a great chance to play a Les Paul that was designed by Slash himself. The specs of this guitar are pretty similar to the original Slash guitar on “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, and you’ll love shredding on this beautiful Les Paul at a bargain price. Even the amplifier and other components of this performance pack are high-quality, and this is a great option for both beginners and intermediate guitar players who want the full Epiphone experience.
Key Specs and Features: Epiphone Slash “AFD” Les Paul guitar has a Mahogany body topped with AAA Flamed Maple Veneer with Mahogany neck, and has many of the classic Les Paul features that you might find on the original Les Paul guitars. It’s crazy how good this deal is considering the Gibson Les Paul guitars are often sold at around $3000. The neck is a classic SlimTaper D neck profile and it’s finished with Rosewood, which is an extremely comfortable neck to play on, and it’s a signature neck profile for Les Paul guitars.
The bridge is also a classic Tune-O-Matic Bridge with Stopbar Tailpiece, which provides very solid tuning stability for the guitar. Unfortunately, the pickups on this guitar are Ceramic pickups, but they are still decent quality pickups called the Ceramic Plus humbuckers. These Ceramic humbuckers are very powerful machines that are perfect for rock’n’roll and blues. There is also a cool Shadow E-Tuner built into the bridge pickup, which will come in very handy for guitar players in emergency situations. The tones coming out of this guitar are fat and powerful and paired with overdrive, you’ll definitely find a good rock tone to use.
This pack features the Snake Pit-15 guitar amplifier, which is a cute but usable amp that was designed by Slash himself. It’s a 15-watt amplifier with an 8’’ Electar G8 Classic-25 4 ohms speaker, and it has tons of midrange crunch in the overdrive channel. And complete with a full EQ section, it’s a great practice amp. Other than the amp, this pack also features a few guitar picks, cable, strap, premium gig bag, and eMedia online lessons.
Bottom Line: Epiphone Slash “AFD” Les Paul Special-II Performance Pack is an affordable guitar pack with high-quality guitar and amp, finished with other necessary accessories. Offered at a very comfortable packaging, this pack will be perfect for all the guitar players who are Slash fans and is one of the very best electric guitar packages on the market.
2. Squier Stratocaster Pack (Best Value)
Estimated Price | $250 |
Body Material | Poplar |
Fretboard | Laurel |
Pickups | Squier Single Coil Pickups |
Bridge | Vintage-style Synchronized Tremolo Bridge |
Amp Included | Yes |
My Review: Probably the most popular affordable guitar brand – Squier, is a cheaper brand within Fender, and they produce some of the highest quality guitars in the under $300 price range. Squier also sells the most popular electric guitar start kits, and it has everything you’ll need to start playing and learning electric guitar.
The Squier Stratocaster Pack features the iconic Stratocaster, the first guitar that people will immediately think of when they hear “electric guitar”. And for just $250, you get a quality Squier Stratocaster with a guitar amp, cable, strap, picks, gig bag, and a 3-month Fender Player Subscription. Thousands of positive reviews from the customers and years of trust-building in the industry show that Squier’s Stratocaster Pack is still one of the best electric guitar starter kits you’ll find anywhere.
Key Specs and Features: Let’s first take a look at the main component of the Squier Stratocaster kit – the Stratocaster. The Squier Stratocaster comes with two classic finishes – Black or Brown Sunburst. Both finishes are probably the most popular Stratocaster finish and most of the iconic Stratocaster has had a Sunburst or a Black finish.
The Squier Stratocaster comes with a lightweight poplar body and has the classic single-coil pickups with a 5-way pickup switch. The neck is a maple neck with a C-profile, providing a comfortable base for all the guitar first-timers. Stratocaster is the most iconic guitar you’ll find anywhere, and this pack provides the perfect first step to your electric guitar journey.
Looking at the 2nd most important aspect of a beginner pack, let’s take a look at the guitar amp that is included in this package. The package includes a Fender Frontman 10G, and it’s a pretty versatile amp with tons of tones to choose from. For practice purposes, the Fender Frontman 10G is one of the best around. With its small size and classic black panel design and silver grille cloth, the amp has volume, treble, bass, and gain control. Sure, the amp kind of looks like a toy because of its small size, but it provides a loud enough volume for practicing and it’s extremely light and portable.
The package also contains essential accessories like cable, strap, picks, and gig bag. Usually, all these accessories need to be purchased separately, but you get everything you need in one purchase.
Lastly, Squier Stratocaster Pack gives you 3-month access to Fender Play, which is an online learning platform by Fender that gives you a personalized set of online guitar instructions. Fender Play is a community of guitar students all learning from a huge resource of guitar instructional videos, and it’s a supportive community where instructors and students all share information and learn together online. So for a guitar first-timer who is just starting to learn guitar, getting access to a wide range of personalized guitar instruction online is a great idea!
Bottom Line: Squier Stratocaster Pack is probably one of the best-selling electric guitar packages on this list, and it’s for a good reason. From a great-quality electric guitar with classic design, guitar amp, accessories to online guitar instruction, Squier Stratocaster Pack is the full package for starting your guitar-learning journey.

My Review: Next up, we look at another very popular beginner starter pack from Yamaha, and this set offers another excellent set of guitar, amps, and other accessories. Yamaha GigMaker set features another Stratocaster called Yamaha PAC012 Pacifica, but this Yamaha-Strat is definitely geared towards modern rock and metal. With its sleek and pointy edges, the Yamaha PAC012 Pacifica will be an amazing introduction to rock and metal fans.
Aside from the great-value guitar, the GigMaker set offers a solid and reliable 15-watt amp for practicing, a well-made gig bag, tuner, cable, strap, extra set of strings, picks, and a DVD to get you started in your guitar journey! Yamaha is a reliable and trusted company in the guitar world, serving both super affordable and high-end electric guitars to customers around the world. Yamaha GigMaker Electric Guitar Pack has been a mainstay for beginner guitar players around the world, and it’s a great beginner pack for aspiring rock and metal guitarists!
Key Specs and Features: The Yamaha PAC012 Pacifica has a Mahogany body with a Gloss Polyurethane finish, which is something that many high-end guitars have. The mahogany body helps the guitar get the best resonant tone out of the notes, and it’s a very high-quality wood for the price. The design and the contour of the body are excellent as well – providing a comfortable base for long practice hours or long rehearsals.
The neck is a bolt-on maple neck, and it has a rather thin neck that suits beginners and rock guitar players who want to shred. There are a total of 22 frets on the guitar, and factory settings are quite low and close to the fretboard – for maximum comfort while bending and doing wild vibratos. Also, you get a tremolo bridge and a whammy bar that will come in very handy.
Yamaha PAC012 Pacifica comes with three pickups – two single-coil pickups for the neck and the middle, and a humbucker for the bridge pickup. All three are ceramic magnet pickups that are perfect for high-gain rock and metal playing and combined with the whammy bar, there will be so many things you can do and experiment with the guitar. The pickups are set up for maximum versatility, and you can get Fender Strat-like tones on the single-coil pickups, while the humbucker on the bridge will give you Gibson Les Paul-like tones. From funk on the single coils to hardcore rock’n’roll on the humbucker, there are plenty of tones to choose from.
Amp included in this package is the Yamaha GA15II, which is a compact practice amp that has all the necessary components for a beginner looking for their first amp. It might not sound that great compared to a big tube amp, but it’s a small solid-state amp that has plenty of tone possibilities. The controls include Gain, Volume, Clean/Drive Switch, Volume, Treble, Middle, and Bass. It’s also got an Aux In option for plugging your phone in to play music, and a Headphone Out option for a more comfortable practicing session.
On top of that, you also get a full set of accessories with this package: a protective gig bag, Qwik Tune digital chromatic tuner, guitar cable, guitar strap, extra strings, picks, and instructional DVD. Normally, a beginner guitar player needs to buy all these accessories on top of paying for a guitar, but you get the full package with the Yamaha GigMaker Electric Guitar pack. For an aspiring rock or metal guitar player wanting to get their first guitar, this pack has it all.
Bottom Line: Yamaha GigMaker Electric Guitar Pack comes with a very well-built rock machine, Yamaha PAC012 Pacifica, as well as a great practice amp, alongside all the necessary guitar accessories. Overall, this is easily one of the best beginner electric guitar packages out there right now.
4. Epiphone Player Pack
Estimated Price | $270 |
Body Material | Solid Wood |
Fretboard | Rosewood |
Pickups | 650T Humbucker for neck, 700T Humbucker for bridge |
Bridge | Tune-o-matic bridge with Stopbar Tailpiece |
Amp Included | Yes |
My Review: Next up, we have a guitar pack from another hugely popular guitar brand – Epiphone. Epiphone is a cheaper brother brand of Gibson, and they produce more affordable versions of the legendary Gibson guitars with excellent quality for the price. Epiphone Les Paul Player Pack gives a chance for beginner guitar players to experience the Gibson electric guitar at a bargain price.
Epiphone Les Paul Player Pack includes a well-made Epiphone Les Paul guitar, as well as a small amplifier, gig bag, clip-on tuner, strap, and some extra picks as well. This pack might not have as many accessories that come along with the guitar, but this pack features an amazing Epiphone Les Paul that is worth every bit of its price. For guitar enthusiasts that are fans of guitarists like Slash, Gary Moore, or Duane Allman who exclusively use Les Paul guitars, this pack would be much more appealing than starter packs with a Stratocaster.
Key Specs and Features: First off, let’s take a look at the guitar that is included in this set. The Epiphone Les Paul has a very slim single-cutaway body shape that is constructed with Alder wood and has a Gloss finish. The neck is a Hard Maple neck with SlimTaper “D” neck profile, which is the classic neck profile from the 1960s. The SlimTaper “D” neck profile is still one of the most comfortable neck profiles out there today, and it’ll also provide a good starting point for beginner guitar players to develop their left-hand strength.
The scale length is the same 24.75’’ as the Gibson Les Paul guitars, and many features are just like the classic Gibson Les Paul. Epiphone Les Paul has an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge with Epiphone LockTone stopbar Tailpiece, which is a cheaper replica of the signature Gibson bridge hardware.
Les Paul guitars are also famous for their one-of-a-kind PAF humbuckers that were revolutionary at the time, and Epiphone Les Paul has Epiphone’s version of the PAFs. Neck pickup features like 650R Humbucker and the bridge has a 700T Humbucker. For under $300, it’s a miracle that people are able to afford this kind of tone quality, and it’s a great way to experience what the Les Paul feels like, sounds like, and to learn how they respond to your playing.
The neck pickup provides a silky, warm, and full tone that is perfect as a clean tone or with a little bit of overdrive mixed in. The bridge pickup, on the other hand, has plenty of power and aggression for hard rock’n’roll. Paired with an overdrive, the bridge pickup can act as a powerful weapon to cut through any sound mix.
Overall, the Epiphone Les Paul has an excellent value for the price, and the tones coming from the guitar are very versatile and can be used for genres like Pop, Jazz, Funk, Rock, Blues, RnB, Metal, and more. And another aspect that this guitar is great at, is its ability to stay in tune after wild bends and vibratos. Many other cheap electric guitars are terrible at staying in tune after hard playing, but the Epiphone LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge with a stop bar tailpiece excels at keeping the instrument’s intonation spot on.
The Epiphone Guitar Pack includes a small 10-watt amp with a simple clean/crunch switch and some simple EQ controls. This 10-watt amp will obviously not be able to work as a gigging guitar or an amp that you would take on stage, but it’s enough to work as a little practice amp for your bedroom.
Many people love the design and the stylish look of the Epiphone brand. And that’s what you can expect for the stylish Epiphone gig bag that this pack includes, as well as an Epiphone guitar strap, tuner, and a simple guitar cable.
Bottom Line: Epiphone Les Paul Player Pack has an excellent-quality Les Paul with all the necessary accessories on the side. Usually, Les Paul guitars are very pricey and will cost $2000 and upwards with Gibson guitars. But this is a chance for Gibson guitar fans to experience what it is like to play a decent Les Paul at a bargain price, and you also get all the other accessories with the guitar.
5. Kramer Focus Electric Guitar Player Pack
Estimated Price | $250 |
Body Material | Mahogany |
Fretboard | Maple |
Pickups | Kramer SC-1 Alnico V Single Coil for neck and middle, Kramer HB-1 Humbucker for bridge |
Bridge | Vintage-style Tremolo Bridge |
Amp Included | Yes |
My Review: Our next guitar pack features the Kramer Focus Electric Guitar Player Pack, and it’s another great guitar pack by a lesser-known brand called Kramer. Kramer Guitars was founded in the 1970s as hard rock and heavy metal-focused guitar brand, and they are currently a division within the Gibson guitar brand. Kramer Guitars was founded by a California luthier named Gary Kramer, and their signature models featured a unique aluminum-reinforced neck with fretboards made of Ebony. Then they moved onto wooden necks in the 1980s, and soon they had world-famous customers like Eddie Van Halen and Mick Mars of Mötley Crüe rocking out their guitars on stage. But sadly, they ran into financial difficulties in 1991 and were sold to Gibson Guitars.
Kramer Focus Electric Player Pack showcases the Kramer Focus Electric Guitar, which is a beautiful solid-body electric body that is designed to rock out. For the hard rock and metal fans, or Eddie Van Halen fans out there, getting the Kramer Focus Electric Player Pack will give you the perfect starting point to learning to shred like Eddie Van Halen.
Key Specs and Features: Focus Electric Player Pack is focused on giving beginner guitarists the best rock guitar under the $300 price range. It features the Kramer Focus solid body, which is a sleek and modern-looking Stratocaster with a very powerful set of pickups for rocking out as hard as possible. The Kramer Focus guitar comes in Black and Red, both of which are very eye-catching finishes to choose from. Kramer Focus is made of Mahogany wood and has a Maple neck. Its neck profile is something called K-Speed SlimTaper C, and this particular neck profile is completely focused on trying to give players the fastest movement up and down the neck. With a K-Speed SlimTaper C neck profile, learning to shred will come easier than fatter guitar necks. Kramer Focus guitar also has a sturdy Vintage Style Tremolo on the bridge, and this will allow you to bend the notes up and down like Eddie Van Halen.
In terms of pickups, Kramer Focus has 2 Alnico V single-coil pickups for the neck and the middle, and Alnico V humbucker for the bridge position. They are all quite powerful pickups, and they were designed to give the players a lot of output and power. With these pickups, you will be able to play all your favorite metal and hard rock tunes.
The Kramer Focus Electric Player Pack includes various accessories and has most things that a beginner guitar player might need. The Kramer Pack includes everything from Kramer Electar 10-watt amp, a Kramer gig bag, a Kramer strap, a guitar cable, three guitar picks, and an additional clip-on electric guitar tuner. For a beginner guitar player that is interested in rock and metal, and interested in shredding as fast as possible, the Kramer Focus Electric Guitar Player Pack is for you.
Bottom Line: Kramer Focus Electric Guitar Player Pack is focused on the Kramer Focus solid body guitar, and just like its deep roots in hard rock, the Kramer Focus solid body is built for maximum distortion and hardcore music. This guitar pack comes with an excellent guitar amp and will be an amazing choice for any aspiring rock guitar player.
6. Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster HSS Pack
Estimated Price | $350 |
Body Material | Poplar |
Fretboard | Indian Laurel |
Pickups | Ceramic Single Coil Pickups for neck and middle, Ceramic humbucker for the bridge |
Bridge | 2-Point Synchronized Tremolo with Individual Block Saddles |
Amp Included | Yes |
My Review: Next up, we feature another Squier Stratocaster, but this time the Stratocaster has a more modern design that is more suitable for modern genres. This modern Stratocaster guitar pack is the Squier HSS Stratocaster Pack that features a unique HSS pickup system.
The first Stratocaster that we featured was a cheaper take on the classic Fender Stratocaster, and it had the classic Black or Sunburst finish options with the usual triple-Single Coil pickup design. The classic Stratocaster is a better guitar for trying to emulate the sound of blues and rock guitarists from the 1960s and the 1970s, and it has a more iconic design that stayed with Fender for so many years. On the other hand, the Squier HSS Stratocaster is geared towards the young guitar players of today, and they are designed to be more versatile than the classic single-coil Stratocaster.
The finish options are also more modern, and Squier offers either a Charcoal Frost Metallic finish or a Lake Placid Blue finish. Just from the guitar finish, you immediately get a sense that this guitar would be perfect for genres like modern rock, pop, fusion, and even hip hop. Depending on whether you prefer the old-school classic design or the new-school modern strat, both Squier Stratocaster Packs are excellent choices for beginner guitar players.
Key Specs and Features: Squier Affinity HSS Stratocaster has a Poplar body with a Maple neck, and has a very sleek Stratocaster body shape that almost looks futuristic. The body is quite lightweight, and the lightweight body works as a great platform for a very resonant tone. The neck is a C profile Maple neck, and it’s a very comfortable neck profile that is both not too thick or not too thin. It’s a great neck for beginners to get started on, as they can build a balanced left-hand strength through playing on this neck.
The highlight of this guitar is the HSS feature, which translates into Humbucker – Single Coil – Single Coil setup. Unlike a regular Stratocaster with three Single Coil pickups, this guitar has a Humbucker for its bridge position. You might wonder what one change in pickup would do to its sound, but installing a Humbucker instead of a Single Coil on the bridge position creates a whole different tone that is completely different.
The Humbucker pickup is made of two Single Coil pickups attached together, so the output of the pickup will be much higher, and the two Single Coils will also cancel out a lot of the unnecessary noise created in the pickup. The bridge position with Humbucker pickup will create more powerful and aggressive tones, which can be perfect for rock music. You can go back and forth between more classic Single Coil tones and more aggressive Humbucker tones by using the 5-way pickup selector on the guitar.
This Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster pack also comes with a well-made Fender Frontman 15G amp with gain and drive options on it, and it’s a very reliable 15-watt solid-state that will enhance your practicing experience. The pack also includes a 3-month Fender Player subscription with a bunch of personalized lesson materials, gig bag, picks, strap, and a guitar cable.
Bottom Line: Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster HSS Pack is a perfect beginner package for beginner guitar players interested in genres like modern rock, fusion, and pop. Obviously, the guitar can handle a variety of other genres as well, but the added Humbucker pickup will give this Stratocaster a more modern tone. Fitted with all the necessary Fender accessories, Squier HSS Stratocaster Pack is another great beginner pack to consider.
7. LyxPro Electric Guitar Bundle Package
Estimated Price | $350 |
Body Material | Canadian Maple |
Fretboard | Canadian Maple |
Pickups | 3 Single Coil Pickups |
Bridge | Vintage-style Synchronized Tremolo Bridge |
Amp Included | Yes |
My Review: Some readers might be looking for the absolute cheapest options possible, so we will take a look at some of the absolute cheapest electric guitar packs that are on the market today. First off, let’s look at a Guitar Pack by LyxPro. LyxPro is a musical instrument and equipment company that specializes in affordable instruments and equipment, and one of their hottest products is their LyxPro Electric Guitar 39’’ inch Full Beginner Starter Kit.
This kit by LyxPro is one of the highest-rated Electric Beginner Starter Kit on Amazon, and there might be a good reason why it’s so popular and highly rated. The first thing you notice is its very captivating price of just $170 and its unbelievable price for a full beginner electric guitar pack. For the price, the LyxPro 39-inch electric guitar performs very well, and it’s a great guitar package to get for guitar first-timers, including young adults and kids as well.
Key Specs and Features: Let’s first have a look at the guitar that is included in this set – it’s a 39-inch electric guitar with relatively high-quality materials like premium Rosewood Fingerboard, Canadian Maple Neck, and the body is mostly made of Phoenix Wood. The body finish is a natural color, and it has a Fender Stratocaster body shape. The design is comfortable and gives off a quite classy feel for the extremely affordable pricing.
The hardware is all black, and the black hardware stands out from the natural finish of the guitar. The electronics are also pretty much identical to a Fender Stratocaster, and it has the classic single – single – single coil setup with a slanted bridge pickup. And it features a standard volume, and two tone controls, and 5-way pickup selector for the electronics. Many people might fear the quality of the instrument due to the dirt-cheap price, but hundreds of reviews by users talk about the surprisingly good quality of the guitar – with clear harmonics, sturdy tremolo bar, and a comfortable neck. And one of the main issues of cheap electric guitars is their inability to stay in tune especially after bends or vibratos. But the LyxPro Electric Guitar stays in tune extremely well, and you also don’t have to worry about the fret buzzing.
Now looking at the guitar amplifier, it’s a 20-watt Lyx Pro AGL-20 guitar amp. It’s a simple but effective practice amp, with essential knobs like gain, bass, treble, and volume. It also has a headphone jack, and AUX input, which will allow you to practice with backing tracks or play along to a song from your phone. 20-watts is a perfect loudness for you to practice in your room, rehearsal space, or even with a small band. It’s not too loud nor too quiet, and I’m sure you’ll have a lot of practice with this little amp!
Other than that, the LyxPro Electric Guitar Starter Kit also includes other essential tools like a battery-powered mini Clip-On Tuner, an instruction book for kids and adults, a new set of guitar strings, guitar picks, and a comfortable shoulder strap. They also include a comfortable LyxPro soft case to carry your guitar around.
Bottom Line: LyxPro Electric Guitar Full Beginner Start Kit offers a very affordable way to kickstart your relationship with the electric guitar. The downside might be not that the brand is completely unknown compared to other famous brands like Epiphone or Squier, but according to the thousands of reviews, this guitar kit has everything a beginner guitar player might need to practice.
8. ZENY Full Size Electric Guitar Starter Package
Estimated Price | $110 |
Body Material | Basswood |
Fretboard | Rosewood |
Pickups | 3 Single Coil Pickups |
Bridge | Vintage-style Synchronized Tremolo Bridge |
Amp Included | Yes |
My Review: Next, here we have an electric guitar kit that is even cheaper than the previous starter kit. This starter kit is made by ZENY, which is bizarre because they are a lifestyle brand that focuses on furniture and supplies. They also happen to make super cheap musical instruments on the side, and their ZENY Full Size Electric Guitar pack is a very popular beginner set on Amazon. It’ll be difficult to find a starter kit that is cheaper than this set, and if you find a full-sized guitar pack under $100, you would probably need to question its usability.
Even though the guitar pack is made by a furniture brand, ZENY 39’’ Full Size Electric Guitar is a functional guitar that is a good enough electric guitar for complete beginners just starting to play the guitar. Also, this guitar pack is a good fit for beginner acoustic or classical guitar players who want to experience what it is like to play electric guitar. Playing the electric guitar is very different from playing acoustic or classical guitar, and it requires a much different playing style with both the left and the right hand. If you’re interested in playing the electric guitar but are unsure about whether you would like it or not, this ZENY Electric Guitar Pack might be a good start for you.
Key Specs and Features: The ZENY 39’’ Full Size Electric Guitar is a straight copy of a Fender Stratocaster and ZENY did their best to imitate the Fender Stratocaster and added their own unique, pointy headstock. ZENY guitar has a basswood body, which is a nice wood choice for a solid guitar body. The neck is made with maple wood, and the guitar is pretty lightweight to carry around. The guitar is pretty resonant for its price, and it’s a good electric guitar for beginners. When first playing the electric guitar, new techniques like bending and thinner guitar strings might hurt your strings, but after a while, beginner guitar players will develop strong fingers for electric guitar playing.
Guitar also comes with all the necessary Stratocaster features like classic Strat-style white pickguard, solid truss rod in the neck, Stratocaster-style floating bridge, and three single coil pickups. They also have the classic 5-way pickup selector with the three knobs for control, and it’s honestly a wonder how ZENY was able to include all these features with decent-quality wood for all under $100. In any case, getting used to this guitar will be a nice segue to perhaps getting a real Fender Stratocaster in the future.
As for the guitar amp, this pack has a small 10-watt guitar amp with 8 feet guitar cable included in the pack. This 10-watt ZENY GA-10 guitar amp can only really be used for practicing, and it is probably just good enough to use it to practice in small rooms. But it’ll for sure be louder than playing without the amp.
Other than the amp, this pack also comes with a comfortable, padded travel case, as well as a guitar pick, extra strings, and a guitar strap as well. For a complete beginner, ZENY Full-Sized Electric Guitar Pack is an affordable option.
Bottom Line: ZENY 39’’ Full Size Electric Guitar Starter Pack might be the cheapest electric guitar pack online that is actually usable, and over 2000 positive reviews on Amazon can back up that claim. If you’re someone that is completely new to electric guitar and your budget is very low, ZENY 39’’ Electric Guitar Starter Pack might be a great place to start.
9. Fender Squier ¾ Size Kids Mini Strat Electric Guitar Learn-to-Player Bundle
Estimated Price | $280 |
Body Material | Poplar |
Fretboard | Indian Laurel |
Pickups | Squier Single Coil Pickups |
Bridge | Hardtail Bridge |
Amp Included | Yes |
My Review: For the next two guitar packs, we look at beginner electric guitar packs that are specifically designed for kids and also for people with smaller hands. First up, we look at a guitar pack from the gold standard of beginner electric guitars – Squier Guitars. Squier’s Learn-to-Play Bundle for Kids is one of the most popular and highly reviewed kids’ electric guitar packs online.
The reason for that is because Squier and Fender have been dominating the guitar market since the early 1900s, and they have been consistently putting out great products for almost a century now. You can safely trust their experience in the guitar world, and know that you are buying a good-quality instrument with trustworthy accessories.
Fender Squier ¾ Size Kids Learn-to-Play Bundle consists of an excellent Squier ¾-sized Stratocaster, a 10-watt guitar amplifier, and a bunch of other necessary accessories. This bundle will best suit the kids at the age of 6-12, and adults are always recommended to buy full-sized guitars instead of ¾-size guitars.
Key Specs and Features: First let’s have a look at the guitar in this bundle. This bundle includes a ¾-sized Squier Mini Strat and comes in various finishes including Black, Sunburst, White, Surf Green, Orange, Red, Blue, and Pink. Kids usually have their favorite colors, so they will be able to find a color that they like the most.
Other than the color options, this guitar has a thin and lightweight body made out of Poplar and has a super comfortable C shape Maple neck that will be a good fit for beginner kids just starting to play the guitar. Squier Mini Guitar also comes with a trio of Squier single-coil pickups and the classic 5-way pickup switches. The bridge is a hardtail Fender-style bridge, and it will provide solid tuning stability.
The amp included in the set is a GA-10 10-watt amplifier, and the amp is just loud enough to be used as a practice amp in a bedroom. It will certainly not be loud enough for large rooms or rehearsal spaces, and you will need to purchase a bigger amp for that purpose. But the upside might be that the amp is super light and easy to carry, and it’ll certainly make practice sessions very pain-free and approachable for young adults and kids.
Fender Squier ¾-Size Kids Learn-to-Play Bundle also has an array of useful accessories, from a Fender Clip-on Chromatic Tuner, Fender 10ft Instrument Cable, Fender Strap, to 3 Fender guitar picks, Free Trial of Fender Play lessons, and an Austin Bazaar Guitar Essential Instructional DVD. The good news is that the Fender Play is easily accessible from any kind of electronic device with the internet like a computer or even an iPad, and the lessons are very kid-friendly as well.
Bottom Line: Fender Squier ¾-Size Kids Learn-to-Play Bundle is a very trustworthy and high-quality bundle for kids and complete beginners, and starting with a good quality Stratocaster will be very beneficial for the kids and complete beginners.
10. LyxPro Electric Guitar Kit for Kids
Estimated Price | $160 |
Body Material | Canadian Maple |
Fretboard | Canadian Maple |
Pickups | Three Single Coil Pickups |
Bridge | Tremolo Bridge |
Amp Included | Yes |
My Review: Last on our list, we have another guitar starter kit for kids, and the LyxPro 30 Inch Electric Guitar Starter Kit is an even cheaper option for kids to start out with. This bundle is also very highly reviewed by over 600 buyers on Amazon, and like the LyxPro 39-inch Guitar Starter Kit, the LyxPro 30 Inch Electric Guitar features a very well-made guitar and accessories.
This guitar looks more like a toy than a real guitar, and so this Guitar Starter Kit might be more approachable for younger kids and it’ll be a great present for younger kids.
Key Specs and Features: Like the Mini-Strat by Squier, the LyxPro 30 Inch Electric Guitar comes in various colors like Blue, Natural, Pink, and Red. The body is made of Phoenix Wood and topped with Canadian Maple. Sure, the wood selection and its quality might not be great, but it produces a good enough tone for kids to start out with. The neck is a Maple neck and Rosewood Fingerboard for maximum comfort. The Tremolo Bridge system and tuning pegs are stable and reliable, and kids can learn to bend and play hard on the strings.
One weird thing about this guitar is that it only has one humbucker pickup in the middle of the guitar body, which is not a good place to put a single pickup on. There is one volume knob and one tone knob, and it’ll produce a good enough sound for learning to play the guitar. But that’s about it.
As for the amp, there is a 20-watt amp with cable included, and the amp comes with a Built-In Speaker, Headphone Jack, and AUX Input for better practice sessions. In terms of accessories, this bundle has a Mini Clip-on Tuner, an instruction book for kids, an extra set of guitar strings, two guitar picks, and a comfortable shoulder strap.
Bottom Line: LyxPro 30 Inch Electric Guitar Starter Kit is a cheap bundle for kids only, and it’s an affordable gift that you can give to the kids who are interested in trying out electric guitar. Who knows, kids might start out with this Starter Kit and become world-famous guitarists in 20 years.
My name is Chris and I’ve had a passion for music and guitars for as long as I can remember. I started this website with some of my friends who are musicians, music teachers, gear heads, and music enthusiasts so we could provide high-quality guitar and music-related content.
I’ve been playing guitar since I was 13 years old and am an avid collector. Amps, pedals, guitars, bass, drums, microphones, studio, and recording gear, I love it all.
I was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania. My background is in Electrical Engineering, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. With my engineering experience, I’ve developed as a designer of guitar amplifiers and effects. A true passion of mine, I’ve designed, built, and repaired a wide range of guitar amps and electronics.
